Zachary Nelson knows his career goals aren’t typical.

He’s studying both chemical and aerospace engineering and wants to unite these areas and forge a path in national defense that’s never been seen before. He’s able to complete his studies – and dream big – thanks to generous donors like you.

“My scholarships helped impact my career goals,” Zachary, a junior from Las Cruces, New Mexico, by way of New Orleans, Louisiana, said. “By being able to not go into student debt, I can start my engineering firm sooner, with an ultimate goal of starting my own defense company. The scholarships have given me a great head start and something that will help me be that much more successful.”

Scholarships are just one way students’ lives are changed here. In the College of Engineering, we’ve made it a priority to also provide students with the best resources available. That’s why we opened the Eloy Torrez Family Learning Communities in 2019 in the engineering suite for study rooms, computer stations, and tutoring and mentoring by faculty and peers.

You’ve already shown a passion for supporting the College of Engineering – thank you! Now, you have the opportunity to continue your critical support for students like Zachary.

Will you make a gift today to support the Eloy Torrez Family Learning Communities in Engineering? You can give easily and securely online by clicking here.

The learning communities were made possible by generous alumni, spearheaded by electrical engineering alum, Eloy Torrez (’70). Your gifts today will continue to support this important resource.

Thank you again for your support of our college. Your gift today will help Aggies like Zachary continue their studies, discover their callings, and boldly shape the future for the better.

Gratefully,
