“I’m so grateful for donors who have the courage and the willingness to believe in students and support us.

You put me through college. I’ve learned a lot, not just from my courses but the life experiences I don't think I would have had anywhere other than NMSU.”

College of Education Scholarship Dean's Discovery Fund

Most people are eager to leave their high school days behind them once it’s time, but Julius Acosta can’t wait to return – to teach.

The senior biology and secondary education major from Arista, New Mexico, has his sights set on becoming a high school biology teacher, beginning first with teaching the course in middle school. His time at New Mexico State University inspired him toward this path – and so did generous donors like you.

“Scholarships have helped me tremendously,” Julius said. “They give me motivation and I am honored that this is someone’s gift so I try to stay focused. I wasn’t sure I was going to go the education route at first, but then I decided I should choose a career I like. To me, that’s teaching and mentoring people.”

You’ve already shown a passion for supporting the College of Education – thank you! Now, you have the opportunity to continue your critical support for students like Julius.

Our new college is primed to find solutions to global challenges with local impacts, and Julius is just one of the students who will be on the front-end of leading this charge.

Thank you again for your support. Your gift today will help Aggies like Julius continue their studies, discover their callings, and boldly shape the future for the better.
