“The Aggie Jumpstart Fund can help students starting college to feel like they’re on a level playing field; actually they will be starting off with extra training that can put them ahead of their peers. We want to help them feel empowered.

Aggie Jump Start Program

The past two years have been challenging for us all, but it has been especially difficult for our students.

In 2019, the College of Arts and Sciences launched the Aggie Jumpstart Program to help incoming students find success throughout their academic careers at New Mexico State University.

Designed to assist students to prepare for success in college-level English and mathematics, the two-week program offers students with skills enhancement, English and mathematics instruction provided by NMSU faculty, and provides students with opportunities to acclimate to the NMSU campus. Through a cohort model, students engage in a co-curricular and residential-based experience prior to the start of the fall semester.

As we prepare to welcome a new freshmen class, we need your help! This program is offered to 40 incoming freshmen at no cost to the student. However, the cost to host the program is $2,000 per student, which is why we have a goal of $80,000!

We ask for your financial support so that we can continue hosting Aggie Jumpstart for students to come. You can give easily and securely online by clicking here.

TIf you should have any questions about this program, its mission, or the students it supports, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office.

Thank you for your continued support of our students,
